Jets are back

This has been an exiting week. The return of the NHL to Winnipeg became official. Although I may not be a season ticket holder, I had some great memories of the team when I was a kid. I went to several games a year. My favorite team when I was a kid was the Montreal Canadiens, I was fortunate to see the likes of Patrick Roy and Wayne Gretzky play. The most memorable was sitting up high behind the net when Teemu Selanne broke the rookie record for the most goals in a rookie season. They were playing the Quebec Nordiques and Stephan Fiset was in net, when he scored his hat-trick to break the record. He threw his glove in the air and used his hockey stick as a gun pretending to shoot it down from the sky.  I remember the crowd cheered loud for at least 20 minutes delaying the game as they honored Teemu with the golden hockey stick that previously belonged to Mike Bossy.  That is something I will not forget, and I look forward to many new memories in the years to come with the return of the NHL to Winnipeg (whatever they will be called).
I'm thinking the Lord had it in the cards to get some more young forerunners to stay in our city.
